Barry, who lives in Waverton is a qualified Chemist who spent many years developing scientific equipment for laboratory market and his instruments have been used by many Universities including the Open University both in the UK and throughout the world.

Over the last ten years he has devoted his energies to helping people with debt problems both here in Chester area and throughout the UK.

Barry has chosen as his Club’s main local charity the ‘Women’s Refuge’ which is located on the outskirts of Chester and whose work he deeply admires. This organisation provides much needed help for women who find themselves in an abusive relationship. For those that need escape from such a relationship, the charity can be the first point of contact providing both emergency accommodation and everyday items such as clothing and toiletries as an example. One of the many aims of Rotary is to support local charitable organisations and in Barry’s Presidential year of office, this will be one  of the main organisations the Club will support.

Barry’s Vice President will be Ty Price known in the club as the Curry King seen here receiving his badge of office from Barry.

The Rotary Club will continue to support ‘Contact the Elderly’ monthly dinners, local Schools and colleges with ‘Mock Interviews’ and Rotary District 1180 ‘Disabled Fun Games’. International Projects such as facilities for a school in Nepal and Polio Plus will also be aided by the Club members.

Club Fellowship is encouraged in the form of social evenings, interesting  Speakers and fun events.

New potential members and friends of Rotary are always welcome at our Club weekly meetings held each Tuesday evening at the Mercure Chester Abbots Well Hotel, Chester.

The Rotary District 1180 / RIBI Theme for 2014 -2015 year is ” LIGHT UP ROTARY” in a belief that change is necessary to stay where we are.
