7th June 2016 ~ Rotary make donation to Local Charity B.I.R.D.

The Rotary Club of Chester Deva is proud to support Chester Charity B.I.R.D.(Brain Injury Rehabilitation & Development) by giving £600 to this worthwhile Charity. The funds were raised by members and friends of Rotary Bag Packing at Sainsbury’s Store in Chester. Our thanks go to all those who supported this event.

Chester Deva Rotary Club members welcomed Speaker Helen Schielke, Charity Manager at  B.I.R.D. who gave an insight into the workings of this Charity.

B.I.R.D. based in Eccleston, Chester, work with people of all ages and with all types of brain injury-irrespective of its severity. Most of the people treated are children. Since 1982 it has treated people with a vast array of conditions from mild forms of Dyslexia or learning difficulty, for example, through to severe loss of function following an accident or stroke.

B.I.R.D. gives hope to those diagnosed with conditions such as Cerebral Palsy, Asperger Syndrome, Communication Disorders, development delay, Dyspraxia, Autism and children who are falling at school for no apparent reason. This Charity has measurably improved the lives of over 90% of people who have come to them for help.
