July 2016 ~New Chester Deva Rotary President Inaugurated.

Chester Deva Rotarians  welcomed Ken Salter as the new club President for the year July 2016 to June 2017.

Ken who lives in Ellesmere Port is a retired Chemist, who spent many of his working years in Oils Operational Plants at Shell UK, Stanlow Refinery.

In Rotary Ken has served as Club President before and is most associated with Community and Vocational projects.

Ken has chosen as Chester Deva Rotary main local charity to support, by fund raising, for the Countess of Chester Hospital Charitable funds for Stroke Services. An International Project selected for his year is Rotary ” Urban Farming”.

He is an active volunteer in Ellesmere Port Community, and has been award this year the ‘Enid Hester Award’ for his voluntary services by EPNAVCO (Ellesmere Port and Neston Voluntary Community Organisations).

When not working directly with the Community Ken enjoys singing with two male voice choirs, performing as a soloist at Concerts and Care Homes in Cheshire and North Wales.

As his first duty President Ken welcomes new V.P. Simon Groom to take up his Club office.
