For a time he served on District 1180 Committee for Community and Vocational service and took a major role in the setting up of the first ever “Chester Disabled Games” held at Kings school playing fields. Due to the popularity of these Games in Cheshire, the Wirral and North Wales it was moved to the ‘field of dreams’ at MBNA, to accommodate more participants. These Games were fully supported by other Rotary Clubs in the area and became known as ‘District 1180 Disabled FUN Games’, which are held each September in Chester. Malcolm stepped down from his role as Coordinator after ten years, but still attends and helps each year at the Games.

Malcolm has had many innovative ideas for charity fund raising over the years notably designing and building a’ Wishing Well’ in Chester Zoo. This project raised many thousands of pounds for local charities. Also he has contacted local schools and colleges on Rotary youth projects, such as Mock Interviews and Young Inventor for example.

Malcolm says he is pleasantly surprised and honoured by his Club members recognition, but still looks forward to many more years of Rotary service.
